The Route of the "Switzerland Trail of America" Railroad

The roadbed of the famous "Switzerland Trail" railways.
What remains of the "Switzerland Trail".

This was the roadbed of the famous touristic railways of the Rockies. It ran from Boulder to Ward from 1898 (~26 miles). Later was extended reaching Eldora and Sugar Loaf. The narrow gauge railway faded away with the rise of the automobiles in 1920. Now you can hike part of the route through the Caribou Ranch and the Blue Bird Mine
