The Alluvial Fan of the Roaring River

Wide angle photo of the Alluvial Fan of the Roaring River in a beautiful day of autumn.
The water flood carried big stones and sediments creating the alluvial fan.

Easy trail to the Horseshoe Falls on the Old Fall River Road of Rocky Mountain National Park. What is this river of rocks? It's an alluvial fan caused by a disaster in 1982 (the Lawn Lake Dam failure). The fan-shaped accumulation of rocks and sediments attracts many folks today. Very accesible trail.
