Roman dodecahedron mystery

Here we go again with the enigmatic Gallo-Roman dodecahedron. Last January, another one was found. And now is in the news again

Over a hundred Roman dodecahedrons have been found, but nobody knows their use. No mention of this artifact in ancient sources - if there was, probably was lost with the texts of the Library of Alexandria. We are left with conjectures for this archeological enigma - sundial, instrument, magic, religion, etc.

12 faces... 12 constellations...  one of the 5 Platonic solids... Free your imagination with the shape of a dodecahedron.
