Driving Through the Eleven Mile Canyon Recreation Area

Car crossing one of the tunnels of the Eleven Mile Canyon Road in the fall of 2025. 

Miles of dirt and sometimes narrow road following the South Platte River near Lake George, Colorado. Amazing waterway. Many rapids enclosed in a beautiful canyon - known before as “Granite Canyon”. The road was a railway. Three picturesque tunnels along the way. Dramatic scenery and many fishermen. Big motorhome stuck at the entrance.
