Grand Lake Lodge

A right turn before the western entrance to the national park took us to a lodge from 1920. Built high over Grand Lake, Colorado, it opened together with the Trail Ridge Road that crosses Rocky Mountain National Park. This was another vision of Roe Emery, the "Father of Colorado Tourism". Rustic buildings with old-fashioned character ("parkitecture"). There was a wedding. Views of the lake, the town, and the wild mountains.
