Hike to Eugenia Mine, Storm Pass, and Estes Cone

The site of the Eugenia Mine in Rocky Mountain National Park.
Not much left at the site of Eugenia Mine (the ruins of a cabin and a steam boiler). This claim was made in 1897 and work lasted until 1910-1911.
7:55 in the morning and not parking at this trailhead of Rocky Mountain National Park. I got a spot downhill on the side of the road. This trail also goes to Longs Peak (the highest inside the park) and Chasm Lake. We turned towards the old mine and the mountain pass. Less people there. Failed to reach the summit of Estes Cone at the 10,500 feet mark. What a bummer! Even had to zip some oxygen. I’m getting old (and soft). LOL. This part of the trail is steep, rugged, and unmaintained. Navigation is somewhat difficult. Total distance hiked: 6.93 miles. Elevation gain: Over 1,000 feet (Long's Peak trailhead is at 9,400 feet). We'll come back another day to climb to Chasm Lake.
