Iconic Bridge in the Florida Keys
![]() |
| The old Seven Mile Bridge is only open to hikers and bikers up to Pigeon Key. |
Two bridges, the older one from 1912 (a railways bridge) and the newer one completed in 1982. It was among the longest in the world at the time. Hollywood loves it. The Seven Mile Bridge appears in the movies True Lies, License to Kill, and two Fast & Furious. Sunsets are amazing here. A romantic spot (we camped nearby many years ago, at the gone Knight Campground). The longest bridge in the US is the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway in Louisiana. Almost 24 miles long across open water. I always drove there under the rain.
